The first lid did not fit at first. That did not deter me though. I trimmed it out to fit perfectly with a utility knife in less then 30 minutes. The second one I bought was a perfect fit It looks classy and clean. I liked it so much that I bought another for a recycling bin. I found these nice trash and recycling signs to place on each.Definitely recommend these and don’t be deterred if the lid don’t fit. Just set the lid onto the can and trace the outline of the can onto the underside of the lid the cut it out.Store outdoor cushionFirst, the lid did not fit. The opening was 3/8" less than required. That was reason enough to return. Second, the opening at top is about an inch more narrow the the sides. If you put a trash bag in, fill it and try to pull it out, it's very difficult. It gets caught on all 4 sides at the top. This is worthless as a trash can.I’m glad I found this here in Amazon. I purchased one from another vendor & I really like the looks & quality of the product. Very durable & perfect size to store the cushions of my sets. Unfortunately they sold out therefore had to hunt for the match. Low & behold found it here. Yay...I love this storage bin. Bigger than I thought, even though I measured for it, which is nice. I store 4 Giant Breed dogs swim vest in it (dogs are 150 - 200 lbs), six pair of swim fins, snorkels, masks and misc. pool stuff. It is classy and because it is a tall storage bin it takes up less area. I am going to purchase another one for the rest of the pool toys we use and want to hide. I like that there are no holes in it for ventilation because we want to keep the black widow spiders out. We make sure all items are dry before storing them in the bin so there is no mold or mildew issue.It's big but my patio is smaller so it looks overscaled. Quality and appearance seems good but steep price for a plastic box in my opinion. The trash bag hooks/installing trash bags seem a bit cumbersome.I use this to store my pool deck furniture covers. Works perfect for this use. I recommend!I really like this bin, however for a trash can , which it is great but because of the design of the panels being inset. I have to lay it on its side and wiggle and jimmy the bag out. I love the classy look and that it holds a lot. I would buy again even with the flaw.
